The sculpture is artist’s creative take on the moon landing and how much fun it would be to dance on the moon. The pose of the astronaut is set to imply the weightlessness of the Moon’s low gravity. It is also reminiscent of Whatshisname’s high school years when he visited London for the first time in 1998 and went to the Run-DMC concert and managed to high five the band and get a t-shirt signed by all 3 band members. This sculpture is a tribute to those good times.

AT the same time One Small Step is a celebration of the accomplishment of space exploration and a celebration of progress in this field.
